The Hit TV show on CBS Madame Secretary will be featuring hand blown light fixture from Blodgett glass! They will be in the TV set for the White House. The light fixture is a small replica of the same lights that are in the cabinet room of the White House.
In 2008, during the Bush Jr Presidency, the White House had a vintage light broken in the highly decorated Cabinet Room and needed a replacement. They contacted Buzz Blodgett and Jim Gibson from Gibson and Gibson Lighting to collaborate on a reproduction and replacement of a light inside the actual White House. The Art Department of Madam secretary asked for a smaller replica of the original White House lights for the TV set. The project went wonderfully, the combination of the metal tassel detail and frosted glass together was lovely.
